The SecurityCenter combines a free set of must-have security services with simplified access to McAfee Security’s world-class managed security products. These services, including a Security Index and real-time external security alert system, assess, inform, and warn you about your PC’s security vulnerability. Each tool quickly evaluates your exposure to security and Internet-based threats, and then provides recommendations to quickly and securely protect your PC.
Program Benefits:
My Security Index: Summarizes your PCs security vulnerability as a set of graphic and numeric scales indicating how protected or unprotected your PC is. A value of ‘10′ indicates a very secure, protected PC, while a value of ‘0′ indicates a PC with some security vulnerability. The Security Index combines three sub-indices: an anti-virus index, an anti-hacker index, and an anti-abuse index. Each sub-index value is dynamically calculated using internal and external variables.
A Set of Free, Must Have Security Services: Includes a database of known inappropriate Web sites. Each family member is allowed to visit only sites deemed appropriate for his/her assigned content-rating level.
Free Security Alerts: Notifies users about emergency virus outbreaks and other important security related messages. Users are notified via a “toaster’ pop-up alert message. Each alert provides users a set of response options to remove or neutralize the threat or to learn more about it.
Managing McAfee Security Services: Manages and configures current McAfee VirusScan, Personal Firewall and Privacy Service subscriptions.
Access To Fully-Enabled Trial Subscriptions: Offers trial subscriptions to McAfee Security’s managed world-class security products.
